Cricinfo is Cricinfo. It's become the 'Wisden' for cricket on the internet.
This site is not setup to be like a Cricinfo. At its core it's a message board for both cricket related topics and things in general in or about the English speaking Caribbean.
Like most successful internet websites, Cricinfo had a monopoly on unique and up to date cricket content on the internet. That's the secret sauce (IMO). It's not just about content, but unique content not found elsewhere and which generates traffic to the site. And of course with lots of traffic come lots of dollars from ad revenue.

One thing that made Sissy dot com such a popular site and message board was Ryan's ability to get leaked WICB info and then publish it on the site. Even Cricinfo and Tony Cozier have referenced Sissy as their source in the past.
Of course ry@n had his contacts at the WICB and WIPA who would feed him leaked info and documents. I dare say without that, Sissy wouldn't be half as interesting a site.
