Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson will remain suspended until at least next spring, according to a ruling issued Friday by an NFL-appointed arbiter. Peterson, who is charged with felony child abuse for using a wooden switch to discipline his 4-year-old son, had appealed the league’s decision last month to suspend him without pay and not consider him for reinstatement until at least April 15. Though Adrian had been paid during the appeal, the arbiter’s ruling means Peterson must forfeit checks from the Vikings’ last six games, which add up to $4.1 million. The NFL Players Association says the ruling “ignores the facts, the evidence and the collective bargaining agreement. This decision also represents the NFL's repeated failure to adhere to due process and confirms its inconsistent treatment of players.â€

Why is the NFL acting like the District Attorney's office. Is it double jeapordy for both to discipline him?

Ben Roetlisbergher raped a girl. he got away with that..and got 4-6 games suspension retroactively
Peterson already did more than that and his re-instatement is still up in the air. I hope he does not forego his proposed lawsuit challenging the whole stink pile all the way to the supremes >

I'm not interested in any privileges taken from woman beaters or child abusers.
What I sincerely hope is that the Peterson parents aren't still abusing their child.

what is the point of this comment when it makes no sens at all ::confused::
if you so concerned about possible abuse of the child then why not make efforts to ascertain one way or the other ::confused::
one sure way is prolly to reason out that given the light on the case any subsequent brutality of the child would be instantly highlighted and the perpetrators taken into custody
you must remember that the beaters are human too and whatever they are they are social products of the way we live. and their behavior is not so isolated as to suggest they by any means unique. so we have a social problem do we not..or great magnitude that it pays to allocate time and resources to understand from all angles

I understand Map.
Your concern is for the perp, and my concern is for the child.
I care about children. And I don't think that their parents should be the ogres in their lives. Parents are supposed to be the nurturers and sustainers. Not monsters.

The NFL is so fickle. Notice how they treated Ray Rice. They were swayed by tweets from people who would never be able to influence the popularity of football.
I hope Adrian Peterson appeals that ruling. I can only hope he then sues the league over violation of contractual agreement, and rights to due process.
Here is one question nobody can answer. How did the media become aware of Adrian Peterson's whipping his son?
