A New York teen painted as an investor wunderkind in a recent New York magazine story admitted that he made the whole thing up on Monday. Stuyvesant High senior Mohammed Islam and his friend Damir Tulemaganbetov sat down with the New York Observer to dispute claims that Islam made nearly $72 million in investment returns, as first reported by New York. Islam called the figure a "rumor" and said he has never invested and made returns outside of simulated trades in his school investment club. The two apologized for allowing the fabrication to spread while New York has revised its headline to back off the $72 million figure.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
