God is not funny...

Laughter is clearly not the best medicine if you're a religious zealot.  If you've read the texts from all the world's major religions they are conspicuously lacking in humour.  It's as if God doesn't laugh (or like to laugh).  In fact, the followers of some religions make it quite clear that their God is an angry God. 

God just doesn't laugh.  But we do.  And when we choose to laugh at or satirize God it is punishable by death according to some of the followers of at least one major religion.

So I ask the question.  Why is God not funny?  If you believe in the existence of such a deity surely you must also believe he/she/it gave you the gift of humour and laughter for a reason.

Let's have a laugh folks! 

Some of these cartoons are hilariously offensive.  And guess what?  The followers of the religions satirized below didn't stage mass lynch mob demonstrations calling heads of states of democratic countries to censor the publications of these cartoons.  They didn't use threats and intimidation to censor the cartoons.  And they didn't carry out cold blooded murder to censor the cartoons and avenge their precious all powerful God for being ostensibly mocked by a 19 cent Bic pencil.

Sounds like the "Impe Zone" Bro. ::LOL::

But let's go back to Mr. God himself.  When you read the Quran, the Bible, the Torah or Talmud. laughter, comedy, levity etc are nowhere to be found.  Even his earthly manifestation, Jesus Christ Superstar, comes across as a dour surely judgmental arsehole.  Rarely if ever, do we read in the Bible passages where Mr. Christ is happy, laughing, celebrating.  Even God's chosen rug salesman cum last prophet comes across in the Quran as irritable.  Moses comes back from Mt. Sinai and sees a bunch of people laughing it up and having a good time and what does he do?  I'll let Charlton Heston take over this bit.

The only people who are happy it seems are the evil doers!  They are always laughing it up, having a good time, enjoying life.  And that's the crux of the matter.  These three Abrahamic religions have at their core a contemptible view of this life on earth.  Earthly existence is not to be enjoyed or celebrated.  It is for them a platform, a stage, for which your actions (including your thoughts) are invigilated then judged by a celestial Kim Jung-Un when you expire.  It's serious stuff.  And of course you can't even laugh at or with Mr. God. 

Even the description of heaven sounds like a celestial North Korea.  A place full of religious judgmental arseholes all taking themselves seriously is not what I consider blissful existence.
