Actually, Smith was a bit more literate than the other huckster/charlatan.  However, his story of divine revelation (God's words written on golden plates which he, and he alone, was allowed to see) is no more incredulous than that of Mohammed's.

I keep telling y'all that the planet cleans itself, and war is a part of it's cleansing system. And so waste will eliminate itself over pure nonsense. It's a tragedy to the ignorant but a necessity in the eyes of the universe. Waste has to eliminate itself. And war is how human waste do it.
