Guyanese bus drivers transporting persons across the border to Paramaribo must now first apply for the necessary licence, according to Suriname’s Ministry of Transport, Communications and Tourism (TCT).
This announcement was made following a protest recently by Surinamese bus drivers, who are accusing the Guyanese of taking away their business.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

It is usually very convenient for the Guyanese Traveller to enter a bus in Georgetown and emerge in Paramaribo. Let's hope that this matter is settled to the satisfaction of all the stakeholders. I can predict that if the Guyanese Buses are made to Pay this Licence, that cost will be passed on to the passengers with a higher fare.
