My husband and I want to travel in June from Georgetown to Paramaribo(staying two nights)cross the border into French Guiana to look around and return same day to Paramaribo, then back to Georgetown-4-5 days altogether.Taxi service wants to charge $200 USD per person-does this sound reasonable?

Unless you have loads of time on your hands, my own advice is to take the not-very-expensive flight from Ogle in Georgetown to Zorg en Hoop in Paramaribo. It used to be about $99 but may be a bit more now. Trans Guyana and GUM air partner for those flights. The drive from GY to SUR is an adventure of sorts, but you'd probably have a more memorable experience exploring Paramaribo than plying the coastal road.
Heading further south, the ride between Parbo and Albina at the Moroni River (border with French Guiana) is a slightly torturous route full of potholes. Best to start at 4 or 5 am to get to Albina at a reasonable time. Your hotel or a tour company in Parbo can suggest a reliable taxi driver who will drop you and wait around for your return journey. Then you take the ferry or a canoe across the river, check in with the border authorities, and hope you can find a taxi to get you into town. St. Laurent offers a few interesting distractions such as the old "transportation center" where slaves used to be traded. You'll then repeat the process in reverse, returning to Paramaribo after dark exhausted and wondering if the effort was worth it.

For any journey across the river from French Guiana to Suriname, be sure you land on the shores of Albina BEFORE the border closes you're in for a world of hurt and inconvenience. The dudes plying their boats across that river have no incentive to provide you with accurate information about closing timings or legalities of landing somewhere other than the official border crossing.

Well both of us must've read the same travel website researching info about a visit .... as what you quoted is pretty much 'word for word' as to what was posted on that particular website re topic
.... You need to be more on the button or at least quote the original source .... BUT perhaps you were that particular contributor !!!
However, that info is now out of date !! :-\
