Newsrooms around the country are remembering Bob Simon, a Bronx native and longtime "60 Minutes" correspondent.

Simon was killed in an accident while riding in a town car on Manhattan's West Side Highway Wednesday night. Authorities say his vehicle hit another car before slamming into a metal barrier.

The 73-year-old was rushed to Saint Luke's Hospital and pronounced dead.
