BREAKING NEWS: Seven believed dead in accident at Burma, Mahaicony

A teacher and six students of a school at Mahaicony on Friday were believed dead after the vehicle they were in plunged into a canal at Burma main road, police said.

A senior police officer said they were travelling south along the road when the incident occurred. They were returning from a Mashramani activity.

The police officer said they were taken to the Mahaicony Cottage Hospital in an apparent lifeless condition.

Nearby residents of the rice-growing community tried desperately to rescue the occupants.
