President Obama called out Senate Republicans on Friday for delaying the vote to install attorney general nominee Loretta Lynch over a dispute about a human trafficking bill. “You don’t hold attorney general nominees hostage for other issues,†Obama told the Huffington Post. The vote to confirm Lynch has been delayed for 130 days. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has said the attorney general nominee won’t get voted in until Senate Democrats agree to pass the human trafficking bill. But Democrats have refused, citing concerns about language in the bill that could prevent federal funds from being used for abortions.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

Where are the sane members of the GOP to step up and say "we can multi-task" and "we can vote on a new AG and then work to craft a bill that can get enough votes to pass"... This is, what, the third of fourth time in recent memory that the GOP has attempted to take two unrelated issue and try to use one to force the other. It should not matter if you agree or disagree with the Democrats objections to the language in the trafficking law, the simple mechanics of governance (in the US) is that you need enough votes to pass. When you don't get that you need to negotiate, not simply refuse to play in the sandbox any longer
