Islam is not complex.  It is a man made religion just like all the others.  And because it is man made it is schismatic, open to interpretation, and susceptible to sectarianism.

As for "manipulation by others".  Again, this is part of that victimhood narrative which says that all the problems of interpretation and compatibility of Islam to secular values are from "outsiders" and not from its followers/practitioners or the religion itself.  It's why there is a deafening silence from the victimhood crowd when Muslims slaughter fellow Muslims.  It doesn't fit into the victimhood narrative.

Islam appears to me a largely failed religion currently, with only a few regions of nationalist social vigor, overwhelmed by its own internal contradictions which have been turned to advantage by the christian states, long-standing enemies of Islam.

Islam is under attack and it cannot respond.  Islam is foolish, stupid..or rather so decayed now and backward, that Muslims cannot act rationally in response to reality, history, economics, the experience of man and the current Islamic condition in the world.  Islam cannot come up with positive responses to  general need save again in a couple of regions and instance.

Iran is the chief example of vigor in Islam.  Eritrea is another, more impressive example for they are poor and small and yet withstand/withstood all that Obama has thrown at them and are thriving. 

this is opposed to Mummar Gaddafi who against all common sense, all history, all experience, exposed himself to the west while proposing all manner of reformist and revolutionary projects for Africa.  if ever a target invited disaster it was Gaddafi.  he literally put the point on his back and walked out into the open.  did he expect the banksters to leave him alone as he made them unnecessary in Africa...while he sought to neuter the petrodollar and drive western financial institutions into the ground much as the BRICS are seeking to do at the moment? no they would not.

Libya has oil and Gaddaffi had bought up a lot of gold.  warned by his friends, men of great experience and wisdom like Fidel Castro, Gaddafi still made rapprochement with the west and disarmed himself at their demand.  the rest is history.

hindsight makes Gaddafi look a foolish man indeed. Salaudin would have never behaved in a like manner.  there is no logical approach to explain what Gaddafi did..after all he had been bombed by Regan with the loss of his daughters life.  what the hell else did he need to experience to convince him of the real nature of the west ::confused::
I mean Gaddafi himself had carried out a revolution in his own country to get rid of western domination of his people and their national resources.  he had constructed a very un-western, non-exploitation based culture that was thriving. why did he do that...or how could he have done that save in full knowledge of the evils of western capitalism, and the evil populations of people in the west several hundred years of that exploitative life had developed ::confused::

if anyone should have understood the west by personal experience and training it was Gaddafi...yet look at how he ended, betrayed by the west to whom he had returned in trust

a third example of positive Islam is He(i)zbollah under the direction of Hassan Nasrallah.  Hezbollah has held its own in a very hostile environment and right next to the Israeli devil. 

on the whole Shiite Islam opposed to the west is the positive religious element in Islam, relative to the survival needs of Muslims in the world. Sunni Islam is in disarray,the whole religion and and Main Islamic region of the world under attack by Islam's Wahabi element. infiltrated and invaded Islam is on the back foot, defensive and cannot win an outright fight against the west. Islam must reform itself to survive and regain ground.

but can Islam do that, is it  capable doctrinally of such response essential to the survival of Islamic people? is the religion finished as a major force in the world..to be taken over by modern requirements for social organization, and general economic development, that the rights of ordinary people dictate..socialist principles really ::confused::

Funny how the supposed democratic West always sides with monarchs, royals and Tsars. The only difference this time around is that the Israelis are also working alongside the Saudis, their airforces flying side by side, something that hasn't happened since the 1960s, when the Saudis and Israel backed royalists during the Yemenese Civil war, against the republican majority.

The West will do what they did in Vietnam and Syria. They will cut off South Yemen, back allies in the South, demonise the Yemenese as being "co-opted by a foreign power" (Iran), and air-raid the place continuously whilst arming local counter-revolutionaries. Al-Hadi, a puppet who is now hiding in Saudi Arabia, will be treated as the "legitimate" ruler of Yemen.

The Houthis and Yemenese - who have the moral high ground - will lose, the West will waste millions losing as well, and big companies will somehow manage to come out with sweet sweet contracts. Both sides will vote in some new leader who appeases everyone. In 40ish years time there will be stability. Stability leads to civil rights and cultural liberalization, which will save us from having to listen to nutters blaming what are really economic and political problems on the "evils of religion".
