PRESS RELEASE - The National Workers Union (NWU) is at an advanced stage of preparations for the 2015 Annual Congress of Delegates scheduled for June 18, 2015 at the Rex St. Lucian Hotel.
Over one hundred and twenty (120) delegates from seventy branches of the Union will attend the proceedings which will be convened under the theme “Consolidate for Survivalâ€.
The Opening Ceremony will be addressed by former Prime Minister of Trinidad & Tobago, and former President General of the All Trinidad Sugar, Factory and General Workers Trade Union, Basdeo Panday and Chartered Accountant, Geoffrey Devaux.
The Closed Session will receive, discuss and analyse reports on the operations of the organization on Finance, Negotiations, Mobilisation and Grievance Handling, the Membership Discount Programme and Education & Training. The delegates will also elect a new Central Committee to run the affairs of the NWU for the 2015-2016 period.
