Switzerland's Stanislav Wawrinka, who earlier knocked out his fellow Swiss Roger Federer, claimed a second major scalp on Sunday, Novak Djokovic, to win his first men's singles title at the French Open Tennis Championship at Roland Garros in Paris, France.
In one of the best final with the match ebbing and flowing, Wawrinka kept up the pressure with booming serves, telling shots down the lines especially of the one-handed variety, to upset the top seed Novak Djokovic 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 6-4.
It was the third time that Djokovic was finishing as runner-up at this Grand Slam event, while Wawrinka's best placing before Sunday was a quarter finalist.
The match lasted 3 hrs and 12 minutes, for Wawrinka's second Grand Slam title.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
