An emotional memorial service has been held in the Japanese city of Nagasaki where US forces dropped an atomic bomb during World War Two, 70 years ago.
Speeches at the ceremony criticised the attending Prime Minister Shinzo Abe for his plans to loosen the restrictions on what Japan's military can do.
At least 70,000 people died in the attack, which came three days after another bomb was dropped on Hiroshima.
Nagasaki was only chosen after a cloud obscured the original target, Kokura.
A solemn ceremony in front of guests from 75 countries, including US Ambassador Caroline Kennedy, began on Sunday with a declaration read out by children.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

It must of been a sad time remembering that horrible day and also that took lives and families were disrupted and also broken from this bomb which was devastating and remembering reading about this in a book and also watching a movie on it as well. I reckon this must be hard for the people to get on with their lives and can't imagine what the people went through and hope they find peace at same stage in their lives. It is sad that innocent lives were taken and who may not have had any part in the war, which is what happens in wars the innocents always die no matter who wins in the battle.
