Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Friday expressed “profound grief†over the country’s role in World War II, but did not apologize for Japan’s actions. Instead, he reiterated statements expressed by the country’s prior leaders. “Japan has repeatedly expressed the feelings of deep remorse and heartfelt apology for its actions during the war,†he said. “Such position articulated by the previous cabinets will remain unshakeable into the future.†The country’s future generations should not “be predestined to apologize,†he said.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
