A group of ethicists, scientists and policy experts from Hinxton group, which is an international consortium on ethics and law and stem cells that unites bioethicists, researchers and policy experts from all over the world, stressed on the fact that genetic modification of human embryos is an essential need today. The group urged that even though genetically modified babies may not be born at the moment, however in certain cases, this could be the possibility in future.
Phenomenal genetics advances have been made with the possibility that combines a ‘molecular sat-nav’ that travels inside the DNA to a precise location and alters the DNA as required. Research has also proved that through genetic modifications, blood disorders can be corrected in embryos of early stage. Also babies born with cystic fibrosis can benefit from genetic modification, decreasing risk of cancer. Successful trials have also been performed on HIV patients offering their embryos immunity from the virus. However the tests conducted in isolation do not present the whole picture.
There have been instances when failure of the process has also been reported. Genetic Modification has been tried on babies born having no immune system known as Bubble Syndrome however the technique resulted in cancer in some cases.
US refused to fund any research that involves testing of gene editing in human embryos. When will man learn that no matter how hard they try to overcome disease and death, they will ultimately have to face it!

Humans need to understand that they can't create a human baby using the technology and also people can't increase their life by any means, and need to face the hard facts that diseases affect everyone anywhere in the world. I think that scientists need to be aware of what can happen if they do create a perfect child and it rebels or tries to take over them, and need to be aware of what can occur if they do not stop doing this. It is interesting to see what happens when a person tries to do this and it can backfire very easily, and governments won't fund this as it is unreliable.
