The average NFL team, thanks to highly lucrative broadcast TV contracts, is now worth almost $2 billion — a 38 percent jump from last year, a report out Monday reveals.
The broadcast networks, which, beginning in the 2014 season, paid a total of $3.1 billion a year in rights fees, up 63 percent from the previous contract, are making the 32 NFL team owners a wealthier bunch, according to the new report in Forbes magazine, which looks at the most valuable sports franchises in the world.
Not surprisingly, the most valuable teams are in the NFL — the league that draws the highest ratings on TV.
The most valuable franchise is the Dallas Cowboys, according to Forbes, which pegs the net worth of the team, owned by Jerry Jones, at some $4 billion.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
