A Syrian refugee shows his exhaustion as he struggles to swim toward a beach on the Greek island of Lesbos.
The unidentified man had jumped off an overcrowded dinghy while crossing the Aegean Sea from Turkey – part of a tide of migrants escaping war-ravaged countries in the Middle East and Asia.
Greece said on Thursday that it was possible that large numbers of refugees from Syria may be about to seek entry into the country from its land border with Turkey.
It would be a relatively new entry point to Greece for the migrants, tens of thousands of whom have braved small boats and rough seas to get from Turkey to Greek islands such as Kos and Lesbos before continuing into the European Union.
“From our side, we are preparing for a possible new wave from the Evros border,†Rodolphos Moronis, spokesman for Greece’s pre-election caretaker government, told Reuters.

It is sad when a refugee tries to swim to a different country and also they could of faced a sea creature or drowned in the process, which is the fate of some of the people. I reckon that the people will have to try and help these refugees to get to safety, and also it can mean a good life for them and also help them adjust in life. I think that people are brave to get to the border, and also it will be nice if they help them out in the process.

sadly in our world today in order to make people sympathize with those that are in need, certain people need to take risks that could cost them their life. A 2 year old child had to die in order for the canadian embassy to consider his father's immigration request (which he denied), several people had to die in the sea in order for neighbouring countries to consider those who survived and now this man had to take this step so that his desperation can be converted into a possible immigration for him in the country!
