Trump cancels S.C. appearance for business deal

Donald Trump has canceled his appearance at a South Carolina forum Friday because of a business deal.

“Mr. Trump has a significant business transaction that was expected to close Thursday,” his campaign said in an e-mail.

Ten other Republican presidential candidates are scheduled to address South Carolina voters at the Heritage Action Presidential Forum in Greenville.

Trump “sends his regrets and looks forward to being with the great people of South Carolina on Wednesday in Columbia,” the campaign said in a statement.

The campaign also said that Trump’s business deal will be announced this week.
