Boat capsizes in the East River near Queens; 17 rescued

QUEENS — Multiple people were rescued after a boat capsized in the East River Sunday afternoon.

The boat capsized around 1:45 p.m. near the Whitestone Bridge at College Point Yacht Club in Queens, FDNY confirms.

Multiple people were thrown into the water. Sources tell PIX11 at last 17 people were rescued

No serious injuries have been reported.
