German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she wants more action from Facebook when it comes to filtering hateful racial posts. The comments were overheard by media as Merkel was speaking to CEO Mark Zuckerberg on the sidelines of the UN summit.
Merkel’s request could be heard on a live transmission broadcast seconds before the introductory remarks at a luncheon in New York on Saturday.
The German leader asked Zuckerberg about hate speech posts, with the Facebook CEO responding: “We need to do some work.â€
Merkel followed up: “Are you working on this?†Zuckerberg was heard replying: “Yeah.â€
The transmission was then cut off as the luncheon began.

There is way to report racist posts on Facebook. It doesn't take long for it to be brought down.

Yeah, I'm not sure what this is all about. Personally, I've seen little to no racist posts on Facebook, and those get reported and deleted quickly.
But what can you expect on a social network that is as large as Facebook is? With that amount of people, you got to have a bit of everything.
I don't see how Facebook, or any other company, could get around to blocking all that, while keeping their current company strategy.
But, good too hear that they're working on anything that has to do with anti-bigotry, hate talk and such.

Facebook as phenomenal as it is getting, there is no surprise that a lot of changes and monitoring will be seen in future. The good thing is such matters are under concern!
