You dim the lights, put your phone on silent, order a takeaway and switch on Netflix.
It's a well-worn routine, but if all that is just too time consuming, your prayers have been answered.
Netflix has posted schematics for what it calls "The Switch" - a simple, internet-connected button that can be wired to create the perfect Netflix experience with just one press.
It's already being called the "Netflix and chill button" in reference to the popular slang for hooking up.
The device, which can be battery powered or connected to the mains depending on the components you select, can be programmed to turn on your TV and activate Netflix, dim smart lights, order food from a takeaway service, and silence an Android smartphone.
Putting the switch together requires a bit of technical know-how including soldering components together and some elementary programming, but isn't entirely out of the reach of amateur tinkerers.
The design in question uses Philips' internet-connected lights and a TV recommended by Netflix, although the button could be made to work with other kit. Android users must also download an app to allow the switch to silence notifications.
