The religious order founded by Mother Teresa has decided to stop adoptions in India altogether, rather than allow kids to be adopted by single parents or couples where one or both had previously been divorced. The decision follows changes in India's adoption policy to make it easier for children to find homes by drawing from a centralized adoption pool. “We do not wish to give children to single parents or divorced people. It is not a religious rule, but a human rule," a sister at one of the orphanages said. "Children need both parents, male and female. That is only natural, isn’t it?†Non-governmental organizations say there are between 16 and 30 million orphans in India, and adoption rates have declined.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

Kids do need both parents however for orphans having one parent is better than having none!

I don't share the same sentiments. How people are raised by single parents or divorced couples nowadays? A billion?
