A photo of what could be history's deadliest iceberg is up for auction after spending nearly a century on a wall in the officers of the law firm that represented the Titanic's owners. There are other photos in existence of the iceberg believed to have sunk the huge liner, but this one comes with some tell-tale testimony, the Telegraph reports. It was taken by a steward on a German liner the night after the Titanic sank, and he wrote that he saw red paint on the side of the iceberg at the time, which experts believe may have been left by its collision with the ship, CNN reports.
"On the day after the sinking of the Titanic, the steamer Prinz Adalbert passes the iceberg shown in this photograph. The Titanic disaster was not yet known by us," the steward writes. "On one side red paint was plainly visible, which has the appearance of having been made by the scraping of a vessel on the iceberg." The BBC reports that while the iceberg photo has appeared in books about the Titanic, this is the first time the steward's testimony has surfaced. The note and photo will be sold as one lot by British auctioneers Henry Aldridge and Son next weekend and they are expected to fetch upward of $20,000. (The ship's last lunch menu sold for $88,000 at a recent auction.)
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

$20,000 plus just for a photo. What if it is the wrong iceberg in the photo.

I think that it is interesting to see the amount someone would pay for this and must be people who have a lot of money and hope they, see the value of the item and also take care of it and cherish it as well. I hope the person is getting what they paid for and need to check the details and also, is it the real thing and should verify it and hope it works out for them as well. It is a antique and maybe the person will have many stories for their family and talk about the history of this and keep it in a safe place.
