Lamar Odom opened his eyes and was able to communicate: report

NEW YORK – Lamar Odom opened his eyes and communicated with someone who spoke to him in his hospital room Thursday, Entertainment Tonight is reporting.

It's not clear whether Odom spoke or used gestures, but he reportedly confirmed that he wanted to see his children.  The former NBA star has two children, Lamar Odom Jr., 13, and Destiny, 17.  Their mother and his former girlfriend, Liza Morales, took both kids to Las Vegas to be with Odom at Sunrise Hospital.

The 35-year-old has been hospitalized after he was found unconscious and unresponsive in a Nevada brothel.

In three days, Odom spent $75,000 there, which guaranteed two women would "take care of any of his needs," Hof told CNN's sister network HLN.

He used cocaine on his first day at the brothel Saturday, employees told 911 dispatchers. On a 911 call played at a news conference, a woman said she also saw him take 10 herbal supplement tablets over three days.

The brothel's employees also told 911 operators that when they found him Tuesday, Odom was lying in bed on his side with a pinkish fluid coming from his mouth and nose.

Looks like there is some recovery
