I understand the sentiment of people changing their avatars and profile pics to French flags and whatnot. But I also think there comes a point when it becomes more about vanity, more about SHOWING how righteous and supportive you are, than actually being supportive.
I'm one of the few people in my Facebook feed that hasn't changed their profile pic. I'd rather keep my shock and awe to myself, and talk amongst friends, and process my feelings that way, than signal to everyone else just how down for the cause I am.
I think the show of solidarity is nice, but I'm also aware that we're in the age of social media narcissism (not to accuse the OP of this, but these are some of my thoughts).

Paris Terror Suspects Arrested in TurkeyTurkish police announced Saturday that three people with suspected ties to ISIS have been arrested. One of the arrested, a 26-year-old Belgian national of Moroccan descent, Ahmet Dahmani, is suspected of scouting sites for the Paris attacks. The other two suspects are Syrian nationals: Ahment Tahir, 29, and Mohammed Verd, 23. Both were entrusted with transporting Dahmani to Syria, according to Turkish police.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
