I get tired of Guyanese at home continually accusing Diaspora Guyanese of negativity towards Guyana. Propagation of this myth must stop. The most 'negativity' is in the Guyana media which provides news: crime, murders, suicide, thefts, all sorts of violence and much more that are not created by people living overseas. If anything Diaspora Guyanese contribute positively through remittances, social activism, donations to schools, hospitals and other institutions, medical outreach programs, visiting and spending foreign currency in millions of dollars and so on. So its time for our brothers and sisters at home to stop bad mouthing overseas Guyanese every time they wake up on the wrong side of the bed. Instead they should add their efforts to make things better at home.
