Yikes,
time to invest in a lot of bug spray I suppose. ::LOL:: ::LOL:: ::LOL::
Anyway, I'm sure, just like all the other horrible diseases that people freak out about, that they'll come up with a vaccine in a relatively short time. I feel bad for all the children born with defects though, there parents must be heartbroken. I know I would be if I was stuck in that situation.

Dengue is still prevalent in our country...and now Zika is an international emergency. What do we do? It's quite scary as children are most susceptible to both disease carrying mosquitoes. And I've read too that there's a theory about how the genetically modified mosquitoes are the ones who carry Zika. Oh, so much confusion about this issue.:/

We had a story on the local news today about the local university rallying up its efforts to combat the disease and become a leader in combating it, which I thought was pretty interesting. It does really show you the severity of the case though because we are pretty much in the middle of nowhere so if it is reaching here than it is spreading fast.

Will someone please tell me why is Africa included in almost every known disease outbreak? I haven't heard and report of anyone in Africa being infected by the Zika virus so far. However, I am now being told that it is coming from Africa. I am thinking of the possibility of this disease being derived from genetic modification.

President Obama will ask Congress for $1.8 billion to fight the Zika virus
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

The Zika has sprung up out of nowhere onto the world population. It's is a relatively unknown disease. Currently, there is no vaccine or remedy for it. The various effects of this disease are being discovered on a day to day basis. It's full intensity has not yet been determined. The best thing for people to do is to try as best as possible to avoid contracting this disease.
