Man dies in S&M accident after hook-up on website

A man died after an S&M sex session went wrong.

The man was found with a second man at an address in Manchester , after a 999 call was made.

Fire crews and paramedics went to the house in Cheetham Hill after a caller reported that a man was choking.

When they arrived they found a man tied up against a wall, partially undressed and wearing a bondage mask, with a ligature around his neck and sex toys on the floor.

One source said: “Fire crews got to the property and paramedics were already there. They worked together to try to bring the man back. He had had an apparent cardiac arrest and it was serious.

“The two men met online. They had then arranged to meet at the address. It looks like they met via a specialist S&M site.”

In a statement GMP said: “Police were called shortly after 6.30pm on Friday January 22nd 2016 to a concern for welfare at a house on Barrow Hill Road in Cheetham Hill.

“A 38-year-old man was taken to hospital but sadly died a short time later.

“There are no suspicious circumstances and a file will be passed to the Coroner.”

When the M.E.N. called at the address a man who answered the door said he was too traumatised by the event to speak but emphasised that no crime had been committed and he wanted to try and move on and put the incident behind him.

North West Ambulance Service were alerted first and responded to a report of a man 'choking' at 6.29pm. He was taken by paramedics to North Manchester General Hospital but died later.

It is understood the man who died is from another part of the UK.

The M.E.N. reported in September how firefighters will help save people who have cardiac arrests in a pioneering scheme launched last autumn.

In a national first, crews from the Greater Manchester brigade are helping to deliver life-saving treatment.

When a person dials 999 to report a suspected cardiac arrest both ambulance and fire crews will respond.

Whoever reaches the casualty first will start providing treatment until paramedics take over. Once a patient has been stabilised they will be taken to hospital by ambulance.

The advantage of using fire crews is that in a situation where seconds can be the difference between life and death, skilled drivers can respond using blue flashing lights to get rapidly to a patient.

Crews will be paged by the North West Ambulance Service when a cardiac arrest is reported within three miles of a fire station and dispatched at the same time as an ambulance.

Now let this be a warning to some of you.
