Queen’s Park Savannah
Locals and foreigners alike bolted across the big stage at the Queen’s Park Savannah in Port of Spain yesterday, as if they had waited an entire year to be let go and were finally free.
It was a grand celebration, with those visiting for the first time more than thrilled by the showcase of colour, music and energy.
“This is the best feeling in the world, I’m coming back and, who knows, maybe with a bigger group next year,†said Canadian Maxime Freisen.
There were visitors from as far as Germany and Australia who chose to view the celebration from the Grand Stand but gave their word that come next year they will join in the fun on stage.
“I regret not playing. I’ll fix that next time around,†quipped Australia resident Blake Nguyen.
Events at the Savannah kicked off around 7.30 a.m. when large band Harts crossed the stage, portraying Vogue.
