Three men were Wednesday arraigned for a GYD$2 million robbery committed on the Bank of Baroda’s Mon Repos branch, East Coast Demerara. They are 34-year old Sean Anthony ‘Rattie†Aaron of ‎ ‎317 North East La Penitence, 28-year-old Kennard Jabbar of 88 Freeman Street, and graphic artist 39-year old Eon Campbell.
They were not required to plea to the indictable charge that was read to them by Chief Magistrate, Ann Mc Lennan.
The men were refused bail and the case was transferred to Vigilance Magistrates’ Court for February 9, 2016.
‎ ‎The prosecution’s facts are that on 22nd January, 2016 at Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara, being together with others armed with a gun they robbed Raywantie Lall and Latchmie Mohabir of more than GYD$2 million property of Bank of Baroda.
‎Police also said that the accused robbed security guard Shirley Lucas of one. 32 Taurus revolver, property of Roshan Khan Security Service. ‎
Despite a request for bail by Defence Lawyer, Paul Braam, the Police Prosecutor successfully opposed bail, saying ‎there is credible evidence against the accused bank robbers including an oral confession. They were refused bail because of ‎the seriousness and prevalence of the offence, a lethal weapon was stolen and public safety was put at risk. ‎
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
