Waithe to Rowley: Prove you are not a hypocrite*

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley is a hypocrite to attend a conference on unmasking corruption while staying silent on allegations of corruption against a Government Minister, according to FIXIN T&T’s Kirk Waithe.

Waithe wrote the Prime Minister last week calling on him to remove McDonald from office and launch an investigation and provided documents to show that in her capacity as Minister of Community Development under the former Patrick Manning administration she approved taxpayers’ money to an organisation — the Calabar Foundation — of which her husband is a director.
Rowley has not responded to FIXIN’s letter to date.

“We note that the PM is scheduled to address TTTI’s (Trinidad and Tobago Transparency International) event on Tuesday titled ‘Anti Corruption Conference...unmask the corrupt; Governance, Integrity, People’.
“We find this highly hypocritical and deeply offensive when, in the face of the mountain of evidence before him, he refuses to even acknowledge that there are serious allegations of corruption levelled against one of his most senior ministers,” stated Waithe.
