Gunmen invade Princess Casino

Chaos erupted at the Hotel Ramada Casino at Providence, East Bank Demerara early Friday morning when gunmen stormed in and shot five persons in the process.
The Guyana Chronicle understands that the incident occurred at approximately 3:30 hrs when four armed men walked into the building and demanded cash. Four employees and one policeman were shot and have been hospitalised.
One of the gunmen was caught, while the others escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The Guyana Chronicle will provide more information as it becomes available.

Another gang of criminals assaulting a place brimming with money and loot. I found it blaffing how they can be so succesful in taking on a building like that. Weak security measures? A breach maybe?. Las Vegas Casinos ought to be extremely difficult for a criminal gang to seize.

A security guard attached to the Ramada Princess Hotel’s Casino is the second suspect to be arrested by the police in relation to Friday morning’s robbery and he has since admitted to being one of the two persons who plotted the crime.


Stabroek News was reliably informed that a total of seven persons carried out the early morning heist at the casino, which is located at Providence, East Bank Demerara, carting off a still undisclosed amount of cash.
