Here's a link to the article: edition.cnn.com/2016/05/05/politics/paci...deskrecommended_pool

But wow... this feels like something straight out of a movie.

Four people, stranded on a tiny boat for 2 months... And only 1 made it through to the end. What happened on that boat? I'm sure tensions must have flared, arguments, etc.

Still, dudes pretty lucky to have been found at all.

The first thought in my mind was:

"He ate the other people."

Lol, I'm so sorry for that troubling thought. Anyway, from what I've read, one person died because he jumped out of the ship and the other two died from famine, that's what the survivor said anyway.

He told the media as well that he survived by eating fish and birds. I'm quite curious though as how he was able to catch them since it didn't mention that he has some fishing equipment at all.

And lastly, he kept the passports of his dead companions. I mean, is that weird or not?

Well seeing three of his companions die is something hardly to personally regard as 'fortunate', but He thanked god to be alive. This unknown man was picked up on April 26 by a Panamanian freighter near Hilo. Seems that the motor of their vessel died and remained adrift, they survived catching and eating fish and seagulls.

The ocean is vast and full of treachery. If I would have a vessel, will probably attach an oar boat or two along with nonperishable supplies. This teach us that no precaution is too much.

Hmm, I mean it depends. If you're on a boat adrift in the middle of the ocean, it's not uncommon or weird for birds to take rest on it. They could have fashioned some kind of device to catch them. But yeah, it is sorta weird.

As for keeping the passports thing, I mean its some form of identification that has everything, picture, address, etc, thats not too unusual to take.

And I suppose I wouldn't keep dead bodies in the boat either.

Lucky him! I can only imagine what he went through. I bet he is able to appreciate the little things in life now.

Wow, it seems like you can only hear things like this in movies.
And it turns out that there are a few people out there who really does survive drifting through oceans.

Really makes you wonder though, just how many stories like these happen around the world, yet we know nothing about it.

Maybe theres an epic story of survival of a lost crew somewhere on an Island, or maybe there are survivors of airplane crashes left for dead but still somehow making it through.

I feel that compared to how many of these stories we find out about, there are always more than we'll never know of.

Tough little guy, isn't he? He was drifting for two months? Wow. I rarely use this expression but WOW. Not only he is tough but he is also crafty and very intelligent since he doesn't look like he was starving at all. I can guess that he had some food and water with him because for food it is let's say easy but water is something else.
