Australia will start the extermination from Monday across the Australian Capital Territory in a bid to reduce its population. The reason is due to a feared Over-abundant numbers of eastern grey kangaroos, that can have a devastating impact on the local environment. It can lead to de-vegetation and the complete degradation of certain areas if They let kangaroos run rampant.
A trial is currently underway to test the usefulness of fertility drugs as an alternative method of controlling kangaroo populations. An official said they had explored many options since 1998 to control kangaroo populations, including contraceptive implants, herding and relocation, but those measures had not been effective.

This is heartbreaking. I understand why this has to be done but it's still sad. I hope they can come up of a more acceptable way in controlling Kangaroo's population.

I think the other alternative would be to ship them to zoos the world over, but that would also be very cruel. They also can't just throw them in different countries' wilderness, because that could disrupt the local ecosystem, just as the Dutch did in Australia when they brought rabbits with them and turned vast meadows into wasteland.

Indeed is sad. There's not a correct answer for this issue. Nature sometimes is cruel enough to reduce life to a petty statistic, and We humans are probably playing the fool there trying to take measure to go againts nature, although you can see this extermination as a massive depredation over kangaroos. Nevertheless, is something that must be done regardless of selected genocide or forced castration.
