Actor Jon Polito, best known for his many roles in films directed by the Coen brothers, has passed away at age 65. According to his friend and frequent collaborator John McNaughton, the actor appeared in more than 100 films—including Coen classics The Big Lebowski, Miller’s Crossing, and Barton Fink—and countless TV and Broadway productions. “Jon was a born actor and will be deeply missed by his legion of friends, fans, family and of course his long time partner, Darryl Armbruster to whom I send my condolences. R.I.P. old pal,†he added in a Facebook eulogy.

Well this is certainly a sad loss. He has had some memorable roles, but I will be honest I never really knew his name. I do love the Coen brothers though, and most of their movies, so this is really a shame. I always like the actors who are loyal to their directors, and vice versa. It is sad, and I hope his family can find peace. Thanks for sharing.
