The Santa Clara police union threatened to boycott policing the stadium where the San Francisco 49ers play as a protest of quarterback Colin Kaepernick's criticism of police brutality in the United States. Chief Michael Sellers responded by asserting that they will put people's protection first and ensure a safe environment at the games. â€œThe board of directors of the Santa Clara Police Officerâ€™s Association has a duty to protect its members and work to make all of their working environments free of harassing behavior,â€ he wrote in a letter.

Well that is pretty interesting. I am not sure that I have ever heard of anything like this, but I am guessing that if people had to choose the police presence of not, they are going to want to have police there for security reasons. I think that they have a point, and they think he is making an unfair claim about a profession, and I kind of agree. Interesting stuff, and thanks for sharing.

Serena	This batting performance by the West Indies in the second innings blew me away. I kept closing my eyes and then rubbing and opening them again and sat transfixed as I watch that unbelievable partnership between John Campbell and Shai Hope. What a magnificent performance by these two! It just goes to show that patience, determination and effort can go a long way to improve the performances of the West Indies team. Let us hope that this effort by West Indies batsmen would not be a one-off performance, but will be the beginning of a renewed effort to improve the performances of the team, going forward.
