JetBlue flight 387 took off from Fort Lauderdale in Florida on Wednesday morning,
becoming the first regularly scheduled US flight in more than five decades
to land in Cuba.

I went to Cuba for the first time in 2001 and loved the country
(have to admit that it was very sad to see the life-style that the Cubans were forced to live in......not allowed to do/be better no matter their drive or desire

)
Have gone back eight time since then......and the changes (for the better) during that period always surprise me
Canadians (especially of Guyanese descent) had a role in that change - by adopting whole Cuban families and helping to make their lives better (I personally know several Guyanese who did that)
Canadian tourists as a whole had a huge role in most of those changes
can't imagine how much more it will change now....I only pray that the changes continue to be for the better of the Cubans....whole generations had been denied so much in their lives mostly due to the US embargo.
I plan to go visit again though
