In stunning and tragic news, one of baseballâ€™s preeminent young stars, Marlins right-hander Jose Fernandez, died in a boating accident early Sunday morning, the team has confirmed. Fernandez was 24.

â€œThe Miami Marlins organization is devastated by the tragic loss of Jose Fernandez. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at a very difficult time,â€ the club said in a statement.

As a result of Fernandezâ€™s death, the Marlins have canceled their game against the Braves on Sunday.

Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.
