Catholic vs Public: Schools

you really cannot dismiss the international ramifications of this you know Nargis. 

the world was always much smaller and inter-connected than we thought it was.  it is a village now..for real..all experience inter-connected, relevant and valid

I wanted to send my children to catholic school here in Canada despite my west indian experience, save that it continued here.

our diocese was in the Toronto Scarborough Pickering region.  because my wife was not catholic I had to get permission from the diocese and the Bishop who was in charge treated me like s***. 

I could not believe it.  he was in Pickering.  and what I went through was  thoroughly racist, unfair, unjust and incredible. it was in the fall of 1989.

I went upstairs to the head of the diocese and for the first time in my life I spoke with a white catholic priest who seemed caring as he shud be, intelligent, diplomatic and calm..not rabid, racist, dismissive and elitist.

we had a long conversation and he suggested ways I could get around the former priest who was in charge and had the final word.  I lost interest..my wife lost interest... and we moved out western ontario and I sent my children to public school where they did exceedingly well

one aspect of his displeasure..the first priest here in Pickering..was that I had married outside the faith. he was supremely dissatisfied about that and insisted that my wife convert as a first step to admission of our children to catholic school.

there was no way she was going to convert..so that was a non-starter

ultimately as I studied history, economics..sociology..mostly on my own I developed and drew the necessary conclusions, really from my own experience about the church about life in general
I  never saw any dam difference between the catholic church in Ontario Canada and that which I grew up with in Trinidad.

the friggin Catholic church was a problem in my life..a big one in the overall social life..in Canada as it was in the west indies.  I cud do without it period.  it had caused me great pain and damage all along the way.  I had/have no responsibility to it, or need to be allied with it any longer.

over the years as my perspective became broader, clearer, my anger and bitterness at the catholic church has grown.  and from there I came to the conclusion I have expressed about all religions and schools.  get them to hell out of education.

i went to highschool in Mississauga at a time when it was primarily a white area. i dont know... while i faced racism in elementary school from 1 kid (whom i beat up) i never faced it from anyone else.  I also never paid attn to things like that - i just focused on being the best i could be and had fun. 

ok!  but you see improvement is my thing, change and development, advancement and saving of human life, human fitness and correction of what causes human unfitness. 

I did not go through all that to be an arse at my age now.  there must be some value to my life and I have tried to find the truth in it

that is my point..the real and only point I see in life.  its Logos, Logic..natural logic that comes out of the study or nature, natural science and not from any partisan class- based ideology and world view, save that view that develops out of and from the social interest of the vast majority of the people of the world..the ordinary people..not the minority elites...ordinary working for a living people whose life interest corresponds to and with natural logos.

its like this:  ordinary people a collective working in a business takes it over and would not outsource their jobs to China.  wud they?  no!  that wud be ill-logic..a logic consistent with the capitalist who is only looking for profit.  yet look at what happens:  the capitalist outsources the job and brings the products back to be sold to the  people  who now do not have jobs and the means to buys the products..because he took their jobs away from them.

that is the ill-logic that runS the world. start from theat base and go forward and see than that is the insane logic that undeprins everythging.  and that is why we are at a point of looming war that would kill off our species..BECAUSE OF THE ILL-LOGIC OF THE MINORITY THAT HAS EVOLVED INTO HUMAN SOCIAL DOMINANCE AND CONTROL.

AND THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE THAT ILL-LOGIC WITH THE NATURAL LOGOS THAT SPRINGS FROM THE PEOPLES INTEREST, WHETHER THEY ARE CONSCIOUS OF IT OR NOT.

THE PEOPLES INTEREST IS THE NATURAL LOGOS OF HUMANITY, NATURAL SCIENCE DEVELOPED FROM SIMPLE SURVIVAL IN-BUILT IN US ALL, IN THE CONDITIONS IN WHICH WE LIVE AND THE RULES THEIR-IN WHICH WE MUST LEARN AND LIVE BY... AS WE DISCOVER THEM..OR WE WILL CAUSE OUR OWN EXTINCTION. 

WHICH IS RIGHT WHERE WE ARE AT CURRENTLY WITH THE DOMINANT CAPITALIST ILL-LOGIC THAT PERVADES LIFE, POLLUTING EVERYTHING AND ENDANGERING HUMAN CHANCES IN EXISTENCE.

you wont get that kind of proper logic in religious schools.  they would be entirely concerned with the religious knowledge in the minds of students not natural science..not  logos that would lead the students to question everything, including church doctrine which is pure nonsense.

CHURCH DOCTRINE CANNOT STAND IN THE FACE OF NATURAL SCIENCE..LOGOS..LOGIC!

natural science is saving..religious education is  not.  we have had 2000 years of religious teaching and all we have had is exploitation of masses of  people by a few, accumulation of wealth at the expense of the  people , mass murders, genocide after genocide, war and more war, to the point where a war looms that threatens us all

IF RELIGION WAS THE ANSWER, IF THERE WERE ANY ANSWERS UP IN THERE,  WE WOULD NOT BE WHERE WE ARE CURRENTLY...AFTER 2000 YEARS OF THE DAM NONSENSE...RELIGION > > >

AND WE WUD NOT HAVE LIVED..WUD HAVE AVOIDED THOSE 2000 YEARS OF MASSIVE SOCIAL TRAUMA AT THE HANDS OF RELIGION... WE HAVE JUST COME THROUGH, THAT HAS US ON ON OUR KNEES BEFORE WEALTH, FINANCIAL SLAVERY AND PHYSICAL EXTINCTION
