Guyana’s destiny is with Unasur, Brazil and China

Trust me, I believe that the Caribbean islands are god’s jewels. I would not wish to live anywhere else. However, the harsh reality is that the really influential numbers revolve around six million souls, sans Haiti. We are simply too small a market to get serious global attention and attract real foreign direct investment.

Therefore Guyana is at the crossroads. The situation is so dire that, for example, the pristine and strategic real estate and industry in the region is in the ownership of a small percentage of entrepreneurs and landlords. With the exception of Trinidad and Jamaica we are stuck in primary production mode.

Guyana can be of advantage to Caricom basically on two fronts:

1 the reallocation of soil assets for food and energy driven sources, etc;

the realignment of intellectual capacity by positioning UG as a campus of the UWI.

Guyana by January 2017 had better realise that its destiny is with Unasur, Brazil in particular, and China. The United Nations is not very seriously regarded by the big global players who  at a stroke of a pen can redistribute your oil reserves or decimate you like Syria. Tell me honestly, if Maduro marches on us next week where do we stand? If the USA sees Venezuela as a strategic ally going forward, what influence can a 750,000 republic with all its military brass from rear admirals to major generals, and a minuscule defence force do to safeguard our oil?

Independence looms large now as a mistake, in my opinion; the

euphoria took us nowhere and pensioners like me would have enjoyed far better conditions had we endured the wisdom of our French and other colonial counterparts who receive the best medical care and opportunities as if they were Parisians. Half of my ancestry is French and Dutch, so I am sensitive to these scenarios.

Let us establish in Essequibo, Brazilian interests, eg, mega energy plants. North Brazil since Desmond Hoyte’s leadership has asked Guyana to let the north of that country have access to the sea on Guyana’s coast, with a deep water harbour complete with economic free zones and a hub for mainland continental cruise ships tour development.
Imagine the roads and towns and transformation of regions from Lethem to Linden and Georgetown and Bartica all providing support services lowering the cost of goods.
Stop bauxite overburden leaving, as there could be gold, marble and kaolin in there in commercial quantities.
    Resuscitate the glass factory.
Continue to pave farm to market roads
Establish a national development strategy and a code of investment.
    Bridge the Essequibo.
    Strengthen our justice system.

In terms of aviation, it is impractical to allow Miami to continue to be the gateway to South America, and America to the north, the gateway to Central America, and Mexico.

Travellers can leave South Africa, Brussels the Far East, Europe and Australia, and access the entire South American continent more cheaply, if CBJ Timehri becomes the hub of aviation activity with its capable English-speaking facility.

I have to settle dong and read this properly over the weekend but at this point it looks like more of the jackassness that has brought west indies to its knees.

and I will bet any money I have that it is a black man who has written this..or a foolish Indian.  but I will plump for the black man.

there appears a singular lack of independence in the thought process of the writer, looking for salvation and survival under another mans' umbrella, that is typical of black west indian males..and even more typical of black west indian females, from whom black males get it.

is Guyana a nation in its own right, with its own personality, culture, resources and interests in the world ::confused::

what the phuck about that fact and all that flows naturally from it as guiding principle for the functioning of the nation ::confused::

dos not that say nation and what we must do in the world for ourselves..and as such our destiny lies with no one but ourselves and what we decide to do, guided by our own self personalized self interest to ensure our own development, in the great matrix of choices we are faced with in existence.

by that Guyan shud have long long ago made obvious choices that would have resulted in a much Different guyana in this day and age.  a whole lot of time has been wasted in backward and dependent stupidity, in subservience to ole' Marse, his way and interest in life,,which has never been in Guyana's interest.

one can say the same for the entire british west indies..who not only went the same way but continue to make the same mistake.  and now that ole marse is waning away, its power declining we are about and looking for a new 'father' to provide fuh we a living.  so we say UNASUR and China. at least those are who the writer above picks.  others may pick different potential benefactors

well for that matter what about Iceland and the prince of Denmark, or the king of Shetland, and queen of Jackassony ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused::

there is a west indian way to go, consistent with who we are, our history and personality as countries that have collectively the same blasted interest and upbringing..a positive and powerful way to go that meets all out needs far beyond what we can now imagine it seems

instead of constantly trying to outsource responsibility for ourselves why not accept responsibility for ourselves and nation, and get on about its construction ::confused::

it is in there we will find all the answers.  no others can have answers for us in our own reality...but we.

outsource to them and all they will do is take over and bleed us.  what the phuck else do we want them to do.  they know they have no answers for us...that it is only we who can have answers to our own reality and the questions therein.  how the phuck can they have answers to our own problems from and in our own reality. can they!  they cant and they know it.

so if we outsource to them they know we are stupid backward skunts..and that we don't know..that we are pure jackasses and they will do what comes naturally..bleed, exploit and humiliate we collective supine skunt.

we wud deserve it..deserve nothing bettah

Perhaps the most perplexing aspect of AT&T Stadium, otherwise known as “Jerry World,” is the glare from the sun that bursts through the windows and shines directly onto the field. Time and time again the glare has impacted players’ visibility during games, yet Jerry Jones refuses to make any changes to account for the sun.

Rather than install curtains, Jones has previously said he feels it’s a home-field advantage to have that type of stadium factor impacting games. Well, the glare ended up benefitting the Chiefs early into Thursday’s Thanksgiving game, as a pass from Dak Prescott to George Pickens fell incomplete, at least in part due to the impact of the sun’s glare.

SerenaThis batting performance by the West Indies in the second innings blew me away. I kept closing my eyes and then rubbing and opening them again and sat transfixed as I watch that unbelievable partnership between John Campbell and Shai Hope. What a magnificent performance by these two! It just goes to show that patience, determination and effort can go a long way to improve the performances of the West Indies team. Let us hope that this effort by West Indies batsmen would not be a one-off performance, but will be the beginning of a renewed effort to improve the performances of the team, going forward.(13.10.2025, 09:28)(09:28)0

"As a competitor, you want to be the starter. But I prepare to be the starter, I know I'm a starter in this league.

But you have to be able to be grateful for your role...my role right now is to assist Russ and Jaxson to be the best that they can be while preparing to be the best that I can be.

No matter if I'm 3, 33, this is my first year being number 19, so it's always a first for everything.
