Angola stadium stampede in Uige kills 17

At least 17 people have been killed in a stampede at a football stadium in the northern Angolan city of Uige, local officials say.

Hundreds more were reported to have been injured when supporters stormed the gates after failing to gain entry.

Some of those who fell became trapped and suffocated at the venue on Friday, a medical official said.

Witnesses said the crowd trying to gain access would have taken the stadium past its 8,000 capacity.

Santa Rita de Cassia were due to play Libolo in a first division league match.

"Some people had to walk on top of other people. There were 76 casualties, of whom 17 died," Ernesto Luis, director general of the local hospital, told Reuters news agency.

Five of the injured are reported to be in serious condition.

Angolan and Portuguese media report that some of the dead are children.

Supporter Domingos Vika, 35, said that the entrance was already overcrowded when more people began pouring in to the stadium.

"When they gave the opportunity for everyone to come in, we were all packed at the gate," said Mr Vika, who left the venue with a broken hand.

Angola's President Jose Eduardo dos Santos has ordered an investigation into the incident, local media report.

so what the phuck were you doing all the time, playing the arse while seeming serious, so consistent you were ::confused:: ::confused::

why don't you stop being an idiot either way..try a sincere opinion and be consistent about it, with it, so we may get somewhere relative to you >:(

why do I say Trinidad is a barbarous place ::confused::

I never saw in any part of the dominant Trinidad social superstructure any democratic sentiment, in philosophy and practice, either historically or currently.

there have been persistent social flares like the labour struggles of the 20 century which may be said to have been influenced from outside..the communist internationals and their agitation, the birth of Pan Africanism, the Marcus Garvey movement which most definitely heavily influenced the labour strife of 1919 in Trinidad.

that was a labour strife that picked up steam in 1937 all the way to and past independence in 1962 to the ISA of 1965 and the Black Power uprising and Military Mutiny of Raffique Shah and others

but that grew out of a most brutal colonialism and repression by the British, overall ideological conditioning of the people with which most fully agreed...a good sign of which was the spontaneous organization of Trinidad public feeding British soldiers in transit to British Guiana to surpress Burnham and Jagan social reform.

the regular ordinary life of Trinidad as I know it is one of total lack of official care.  'who get get. who don't the devil take the hindmost'...which from the point of internal self government granted by the British, turned into the most god-awful corruption and free for all seeking to curry favor with the new black government.

Trinidad has been full of unemployment, no plans for the development of the nation with specific purposes of employing the people and setting positive social course.  whatever plans were put in place were like 'Pioneer Status' economic programs that gave away massive freebies to forrin investment under the guise of technology transfers.

there was a way to get up in Trinidad.  you had to play that game to have a chance whether it turned out to be useful or not.  you had to kiss arse, carry news, demonstrate a total subservience to the status and preparedness to prostrate oneself.  to do anything else was existential suicide.

as I said there was never any sincere plan to develop Titty.  Never!  the intent of the Ole Marse was for the west indies to remain as it has over all these years..the people be dammed.

that is what I mean by barbarism..there was never a plan to develop Trinidad, both human and material conditions, with the people in mind.  Trinidad was set up for corporate agriculture, then oil, banking and big commerce which was and is import distribution of forrin manufactures.  whatever Trinidad manufactures that now exist are miniscule relative to imports.

look here there is not now and never has been any official concern for the people of Trinidad and Tobago from the former crown colony government..right through to the current comprador governments made up of local elites..not the slightest of concern.

this lack of concern for the people is manifested right through the society from the top down..so that the Trinidad elites do not give a crap for the people..period.  and that kind of pressure ramifies through the society in expression of social divisions that are mind boggling..from class to race, to variations of skin colour and hair quality, to who has a job and who does not, to gang affiliations etc.

and with the advent of the wickedly addicting crack cocaine and violent drug trade full of degraded money, the Trinidad mess took on the quality that was inherent n the society all the time...the ordinary people finally morphed into the attitudes and behavior of their betters..the Trinidad elites who did not care about the people.  the people now did not care about the society and they have turned it into hell on earth.

the state, elites, forrin power did not care about the people..still don't care about the people.  the people with no chance at all have become what has been imposed on them from the start..social deviltry.  nothing and no one is safe..murder everywhere..the most vile crime takes place like killing a victim and performing all manner of desecration on their bodies..robbing people especially women and pissing on them, sh!tt!ing in their mouths and so on.

what does that kind of thing say about the state of the people.  and there are no plans still to change Trinidad for the better.  no Titty government has even sought to combat crime sincerely from the start..and all they do now is pay lip service.....

Trinidad and Tobago is not a country but a populated forrin corporate location set up for the total and continuing exploitation by those same forrin forces.  it is a barbaric place save from total depravity by whatever level of civility the ordinary folk can maintain routinely to keep the life going

Alien..you are a lunatic skunt pushing the most ignorant an inaccurate talk.  what the phuck are you trying to create... race war you dumb skunt >:( >:( >:(

you giving the impression as if Indians were and are some physically decrepit, shrinking from violence, crime free group, beaten up by nig nogs in Titty.

NUTTEN CUD BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH.  AND HERE ARE JUST A FEW EXAMPLES:

who were and are the biggest Bar'johns in Trinidad.. all the way through, from the start to now..... ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused::

that's right Indians!

the biggest gangster and local powerhouse..Bhadase Sagan Maraj.

Bhadase had power over vast ares of Titty life and dealt with both Indos and Nigs.  his gang had dem both..both groups looked to him.  whatever went on in vast ares of Titty cud not go on unless Bhadase said so

WHO WAS THE LAST DRUG DEALER AND MURDERER EXECUTED IN tRINIDAD..HE AND HIS GANG ::confused::  I FUHGET HIS NAME ::confused:: ::confused::

YES THE VERY BROTHER OF THE FORMER ATTORNEY GENERAL rAMESH mAHARAJ

who was the Biggest killer and powerful gangster, pimp and enforcer: Boysie Singh..who used to beat the hell out of local whites and stood up to the americans.  deh instituted a west indian wide manhunt fuh Boysie Singh for killing people..Americans I believe.

the americans were prolly behind dat. the people of Trinidad loved Boysie Singh..all of dem regardless of ethnicity.  the people liked dat Boysie Singh fought back, cut local whites arse and dealt with the americans

More recently Dr Rat and Raphick Poolool were big time killers and gangsters.

who are all the drug barons and king pins right now..not nig nogs but Indos. korrect mih if I am wrong.

Eric and Manning let who attack who ::confused:: ::confused::

Eric Government and party was full of Indians..Manning too.  weh A-li-rarse  see any party in Titty can get along without the other ::confused:: ::confused:: ::confused::

Perhaps the most perplexing aspect of AT&T Stadium, otherwise known as “Jerry World,” is the glare from the sun that bursts through the windows and shines directly onto the field. Time and time again the glare has impacted players’ visibility during games, yet Jerry Jones refuses to make any changes to account for the sun.

Rather than install curtains, Jones has previously said he feels it’s a home-field advantage to have that type of stadium factor impacting games. Well, the glare ended up benefitting the Chiefs early into Thursday’s Thanksgiving game, as a pass from Dak Prescott to George Pickens fell incomplete, at least in part due to the impact of the sun’s glare.

What a magnificent performance by these two! It just goes to show that patience, determination and effort can go a long way to improve the performances of the West Indies team.
