President Trump and U.S.-Caribbean Relations

IT’S official—Donald Trump is now officially the American president. As the president of the most politically, economically and militarily powerful country in the world, he is the most influential leader on the planet. It is for that reason that all countries should be concerned about who holds that office, for the policies that emanate from America have consequences beyond its borders. For us in the Caribbean, this truth is especially significant. We sit in the proverbial backyard of this great power and have for more than two centuries lived that reality. The new American President is by American standards an unknown quantity—he has never served in any elected position at any level of government , nor has he been a political activist. As a celebrity businessman, he is quintessentially American, but he is the first of his type to assume the presidency. That’s why his rise to power has surprised most Americans and, perhaps, the rest of the world.
Many explanations have been advanced for this break with tradition, but at the end of the day, America and the world must come to grips with the fact that Donald Trump is the president. He defeated Hillary Clinton, one of the best-known establishment politicians in America. Although she garnered more popular votes, thanks to the unique Electoral College, Trump emerged the victor. While many pundits and politicians have called for the abolishment of that system, the truth is that it would take a lot of courage on the part of the political establishment to make that change.
So, what does Mr Trump’s elevation to the presidency hold for the Caribbean? At first glance, one may be tempted to say that not much will change for the Region. Except for a few comments about Cuba, the very vocal president has not tweeted or said much about the Caribbean. Understandably, much of his attention has been on Europe, the Middle East, China and Russia. But given our geographical location, it would be a mistake to believe that our Region would be off America’s radar. The truth of the matter is that despite the obvious power of the presidency in shaping U.S. foreign policy, the general contours of that policy outlive presidents.
The U.S. embargo on Cuba is a perfect example of that thesis. Donald Trump is the 11th president since its enactment. President Obama’s historic changes aside, the general policy has remained intact. The incoming president has threatened to roll back those changes and he may well do so. The Republican control of Congress provides the perfect context for such a move. Should he decide to go that route, it would be a serious blow to Cuba, which has in recent decades felt the burden of the embargo.
For us in Guyana, our oil-find brings us squarely into focus. The USA has historically shown keen interest in any country that has that economic resource. The company that has been exploring for our oil is American-owned and the incoming U.S. Secretary of State is a former executive of that company—the connection is obvious. As a small country, eager to grasp the opportunity for development that oil promises, we cannot escape the web of American hemispheric interests.
In the final analysis, as our largest trading partner and our powerful neighbour, America matters to us. President Obama visited our Region and showed an interest in improving relations and increasing much- needed developmental aid. We hope that the incoming president maintains that policy and even improves it.

the Chinese have pounced..setting before the world capitalist ways of getting over current world economic crisis.  but each way, the only ways available involves massive expansion of Chinese power.

the Chinese are about to swallow globalization whole...dominate the world.  the Zionist wanted to swallow China..China is swallowing them.

Trump can join China and become A Road too.  or Trump can can focus on making american great again..which would simply be retooling america and building up american capacity to compete in the world on its own.  but for dat to work he has to reform american economy.

Trump is going to have to kill debt based economy, eliminate the fed, kill Jewish financial domination.  that is what has systematically gutted the US economy all economies the USA has controlled.  this is the end of central Banking as we have know it.  simply writing down, or writing off all debt wont do for long.  it will quickly build back up again.

taxes can also be massively lowered if the debt based economy is killed.  in fact the government would be able to see its way clear to even eliminating income taxes when central banking is killed and taxes are no longer needed to pay interest charges

and Trump will have to do what the traitor Obama made worse..solve the american health care system.

business costs are simply too great when the cost of health care is factored in.  the cost of health care will have to fall drastically for america to be solvent again.  and that means a single payer system like Canada used to be.  health must be socialized to maintained affordability, or kiss prosperity goodbye

but even simple single payer wont be enough.  they are also going to have to take care of the american people.  they are going to have to take the profit motive out of health care period..so that profit from making people sick and keeping them sick will disappear..must disappear.

there will be massive savings and economic stability if people are as well as they can be all the way through.  if people remain ill at current levels the costs will still be too high.

but no matter what america will no longer be a superpower.  and in another decade or or so this will will be more apparent than ever in the world.  the world will be truly multi-polar.  the problem is getting america to accept its place in the world as a nation, even if a big one, among nations

THE STINKING KISS-MIH-ARSE CARIBBEAN AND GUYANA!!!  WHO GIVES A PHUCK

lets see!  the french islands are part of France..not our problem.  Haiti is not part of France but they have resources and a very tough and capable people accustomed to making it on their ow.  they will survive and do well once they get the white man off their collective back

the Spanish have options...Puerto Rico should and likely will split form the US ad Join with Santo Domingo and Cuba to form some kind of productive effort on their own..no doubt in relations with some parts of the Spanish American continent

the english speaking caribbean has potential of its own but contain the worst most stupid, divided and nasty-minded backward of peoples in all the world..the single most negative and destructive of their chances factor...a racist and wannabe class conscious people who resolutely resist any and all social progress.

as exemplified by the wicb/ or cricket west indies, at their seat sits a revolutionary of the old school.  he is revolutionizing west indies cricket backwards, towards an ancient regime, royal feudalism... not forward to democracy.

that is the kind of sh!t west indians build in a world rapidly moving towards democracy and socialism..i.e revolutionizing forward not backwards to kings and queens again.  the english west indies is bass-ackwards, a jackass space, full of stupid people..all of them regardless of ethnicity.

Indo west indians are just as stupid as Afro west indians and all their mixed off-spring are the same..people without a nationalist, socialist or democratic thought in their heads..all backward and fit for ancient Rome not the modern world.

the west indies will buck up and look after their collective self interest or be phucked in as many ways as the region can be as the world evolves..if they do not accept their independence and responsibility for their nation and go forward as they should and must if they are to survive at all.

what Trump thinks and does in the end is immaterial..or rather american centric..period.  he has said as much....that america alone is his focus.

well the west indies must do the same.

Trump has said he will no longer interfere in internal affairs of nations..so the west indies must look for itself.  the west indies are on their own and Trump will not interfere.    the west indies is on its own with a lackey leadership elite and a stupid people who in these situations always look for a sugar daddy to attach themselves to.

that is the kind of dependency the west indies knows..a kind of social prostitution that mirrors the general attitude of west indians everywhere...never taking responsibility, never building anything..culturally assuming the life that enslaved us and emulating it,,ending up enslaving ourselves..which is the current state of the west indies..the elites enslaving the people keeping they always backward and stupid and ready for forrin exploitation

the west indies is a social/cultural whore..or Ho'! always on the down with a forrin cock in its collective hand, mout' or up its arse.  a region the so supine the west indies cant even play cricket anymore.. the one thing the region ever did in an independent and creative and manly/now womanly also..fashion, glimpses of which we still see as in  recent victories.

well the time is coming when deh have to Trump and follow suit or allyuh sh!t...[ ::LOL:: ::LOL:: well intended]

Perhaps the most perplexing aspect of AT&T Stadium, otherwise known as “Jerry World,” is the glare from the sun that bursts through the windows and shines directly onto the field. Time and time again the glare has impacted players’ visibility during games, yet Jerry Jones refuses to make any changes to account for the sun.

Rather than install curtains, Jones has previously said he feels it’s a home-field advantage to have that type of stadium factor impacting games. Well, the glare ended up benefitting the Chiefs early into Thursday’s Thanksgiving game, as a pass from Dak Prescott to George Pickens fell incomplete, at least in part due to the impact of the sun’s glare.

SerenaThis batting performance by the West Indies in the second innings blew me away. I kept closing my eyes and then rubbing and opening them again and sat transfixed as I watch that unbelievable partnership between John Campbell and Shai Hope. What a magnificent performance by these two! It just goes to show that patience, determination and effort can go a long way to improve the performances of the West Indies team. Let us hope that this effort by West Indies batsmen would not be a one-off performance, but will be the beginning of a renewed effort to improve the performances of the team, going forward.(13.10.2025, 09:28)(09:28)0

WarrenJameis Winston is asked about being named QB3 on the Giants' roster behind Russell Wilson and Jaxson Dart:

"As a competitor, you want to be the starter. But I prepare to be the starter, I know I'm a starter in this league.

But you have to be able to be grateful for your role...my role right now is to assist Russ and Jaxson to be the best that they can be while preparing to be the best that I can be.

No matter if I'm 3, 33, this is my first year being number 19, so it's always a first for everything.
