Prior to the sudden announcement that Preet Bharara, U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, had been fired on Saturday, President Trump's assistant attempted to reach the attorney on Thursday, according to a report in The New York Times. The day after the call, 46 U.S. attorneys appointed by President Obama were asked to resign, including Bharara, who was previously asked to stay on by Trump. Bharara was fired after refusing to resign. When Bharara received the phone call from Trump on Thursday, he told an adviser to attorney general Jeff Sessions that he could not respond because of protocols. He then also called Trump's assistant to say he could not speak with the president due to these protocols.
Always tell someone how you feel because opportunities are lost in the blink of an eye but regret can last a lifetime.

Good for Preet Bharara. With Congress refusing to take its responsibilities seriously and the Attorney General incapable of giving the President good advice, solid U.S. attorneys are even more important.
