White’s NBA career lasted from 1969-1981. He was drafted by the Celtics and remained with Boston until the 1978-79 season. He finished his career with the Golden State Warriors (1979-80) and the then Kansas City Kings (1980-81).
Prior to his NBA career, White was a standout at Kansas and a member of the 1968 Olympic basketball team, which won the Gold Medal.
He made every All-Star team from 1971-1977, was a two time NBA Champion (1974, 1976), winning the Finals MVP during Boston’s six-game victory over the Phoenix Suns in 1976. His No. 15 jersey is retired by the Jayhawks, while his No. 10 is retired by the Celtics. White was enshrined in the Hall of Fame in 2015.
