Woman chopped to death by ex-lover

An Ari­ma man is in po­lice cus­tody af­ter al­leged­ly mur­der­ing his ex-girl­friend at her Pa­lo Seco home last night.

Tahi­la St Clair, 27, died while re­ceiv­ing emer­gency treat­ment at the Siparia Dis­trict Health Fa­cil­i­ty this morn­ing af­ter be­ing se­vere­ly chopped dur­ing an ar­gu­ment hours be­fore.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, St Clair called her fa­ther in dis­tress, telling him that the sus­pect was in her house. The fa­ther told San­ta Flo­ra po­lice that he then heard his daugh­ter scream­ing.

PC Plaza and a team of of­fi­cers then went to the woman’s home and found her bleed­ing on the floor with chop wounds to her head. She was tak­en for treat­ment but died while med­ical staff were at­tempt­ing to sta­bilise her con­di­tion so she could be trans­ferred to the San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal.

In­sp Man­groo and In­sp Khan vis­it­ed the scene and a search for made for the sus­pect, who was found near the scene of the killing.
