I must confess I did not know much about Manley the man, and Manley the political leader, until you mentioned him with such high esteem on this forum herein.  I did read excerpts from his book about West Indies cricket.  But I'll definitely seek out his writings about politics and economics.  I'm also intrigued about how his administration dealt with Burnham.

But was he apathetic to the Burnham gov't and ergo to the plight of the Guyanese people under that a$$hole's dictatorship?
