Adrienne Harris, Miss Guyana 1968, etched her name in pageant history with an outstanding performance at the 18th Miss World competition, held in London on November 14, 1968. Competing against 53 delegates from around the world, she advanced to the prestigious Top 7 and finished as the 6th Runner-Up, marking one of Guyana’s most notable achievements on the international stage.

Her remarkable placement was part of an extraordinary era for Guyana at Miss World, as the country enjoyed an impressive streak of consecutive high-ranking finishes during the late 1960s and early 1970s:
• 1967: Shakira Baksh – 2nd Runner-Up
• 1968: Adrienne Harris – 6th Runner-Up (Top 7 Finalist)
• 1969: Pamela Patricia Lord – 3rd Runner-Up
