Trinidadian mom shot dead in Queens, NY

A Trinidadian mother of two from South Ozone Queens was fatally shot and her cousin has been injured after an early Sunday morning shooting incident.
Dead is Sandra Bajnath. Hundreds of Guyanese live in the area which is adjacent to Richmond Hill, and Bajnath’s Guyanese neighbours spoke well of the victims. The two victims and the woman’s husband had just returned from a nearby club where they were involved in an innocent incident that may have triggered the shooting. Authorities say the woman was shot in a hail of gunfire around 05:30h Sunday on the porch of her two-family wooden frame home at 135th Street. She was pronounced dead at the scene.  Police are looking for the two trigger-happy shooters. Police say the victims with Bajnauth’s husband were having a drink on the front porch when the two men approached them and opened fire.
