ACG condemns AFC and APNU

The Association of Concerned Guyanese (ACG) of Washington D.C./Maryland/ Virginia has categorically condemned the politically motivated violent disturbances in Guyana.

A release from the organisation: “High-level opposition operatives are known to have been present immediately before, during, or after these violent  ‘protests’ and the time has come for the entire Guyanese community, both at home and abroad, to say NO MORE.”
The ACG said it is clear that the intent of the violence is to disrupt the economy of Guyana and to break the morale of the people. But the opposition should know from history that nearly three decades of PNC dictatorship did not succeed in subduing the spirit of the Guyanese people.
“The APNU should also know that hiding under the frock of the AFC for a modicum of legitimacy will not be sufficient to blind the Guyanese people regarding their ongoing and declared position of making Guyana ungovernable. As for the AFC – shame on you! You promised beds of roses but now you are delivering daily doses of poison pills to an unwilling nation. They will not swallow it. What a shame that a few men in the AFC have placed their blind ambition for fame and posterity ahead of the democratic wishes of a hopeful nation,” the ACG said
